How We Verify Our Claims

Why a vendor publishing its own claims policy is worth reading

Air purification is a category where marketing runs ahead of evidence. "Kills 99.9% of germs" appears on boxes with no named organism, no timeframe and no test method. "Medical grade" gets used to describe a filter, a device listing, or nothing at all, depending on who is printing the box.

We are a vendor. We benefit when you believe us. The only reasonable response to that is to publish the rules we hold ourselves to and invite you to check.

What we will state, and where it comes from

• Product specifications — CADR, coverage, filter grade, noise, power, dimensions — come from the manufacturer factsheet for that exact model. Where a spec is not on the factsheet, we leave it out rather than estimate it.
• Certifications — FDA Class 2 medical device listing, CE, RoHS, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 — are stated at company level, because that is the level at which they are held. We do not attach a certificate to an individual product that was not certified individually.
• Our kill-time figure — more than 99.99% of tested airborne pathogens (E. coli, Staphylococcus albus, Influenza A) eliminated within 60 minutes, against roughly 4 hours 23 minutes for the same organisms to decay passively on a standard HEPA filter — comes from chamber testing. We describe it as chamber testing, name the organisms, and give the timeframe, every time.
• Sizing maths — required CADR = floor area × ceiling height × target air changes per hour — is arithmetic, and we show the working so you can check it. Where we assume a ceiling height, we say so.

What we refuse to state

These are standing rules, not case-by-case judgement calls.

• No health outcome promises. No purifier prevents infection or illness, and we will never say ours does. We describe what the equipment does — reduce airborne load, support infection control — not what your body will experience.
• No borrowed statistics. If a figure is not in a factsheet, a certificate or our own testing, it does not go on this site, however good it would look.
• No fabricated social proof. We do not write our own reviews, invent testimonials, or publish an aggregate rating we have not earned. We also do not name a client without their written permission, which is why several real deployments appear on this site unnamed.
• No claims about competitors beyond what they publish. When we compare, we quote the other brand's own published materials and attribute them. We do not dispute their test results, and we do not characterise their products beyond their own documentation.
• No "ozone-free" labelling. We can tell you our automotive units work by electrostatic filtration and cold plasma rather than ozone generation, because that is their published mechanism. We will not print "zero ozone" as an emissions claim, because we do not hold emissions test data to support it.
• No manufacturing claims. AIRE is a Singapore brand. We do not describe ourselves as the manufacturer or say our products are made in Singapore.

Where our own evidence stops

Stating limits is part of the same discipline.

• Our CADR ratings are manufacturer-rated. We are not aware of any brand in the Singapore market — ourselves included — publishing an independent AHAM Verifide or equivalent CADR certificate on its product pages.
• Our chamber testing covered three organisms: two bacteria and one influenza virus. It is not a claim about every pathogen, and it is not a claim about mould.
• We do not publish prices on this site. We quote per room and per fleet instead. That is less convenient for you than a price tag, and it is a fair thing to hold against us.
• Where a claim rests on a client's experience rather than a document, we say "in our experience" rather than dressing it as data.

The four questions to ask any air purifier brand

Use these on us. Use them on everyone.

1. What is the filter grade, stated explicitly? "H13" is a defined standard; "HEPA-type" and "True HEPA" are marketing terms of varying rigour. See H13 vs ordinary HEPA.
2. What is the CADR, and was it verified by anyone but you? A coverage area without a CADR figure cannot be checked against your room. Our size calculator shows the arithmetic.
3. Behind any kill claim — which organism, what timeframe, what method? A percentage without those three things is a slogan.
4. Is there a device listing, and what is the number? Relevant for clinical settings, where a procurement file needs the document rather than the adjective.

A brand that answers all four clearly deserves your shortlist. One that cannot, does not — and that test applies to us.

Are AIRE's test results independently verified?

Our kill-time figures come from chamber testing and we describe them as such, naming the organisms tested and the timeframe. Our CADR ratings are manufacturer-rated, as is standard across this market — we are not aware of any brand selling in Singapore that publishes an independent CADR certificate on its product pages. Ask us for the basis of any figure and ask every other brand for theirs.

Why doesn't AIRE publish an average customer rating?

Because we will not publish a rating we have not genuinely earned. Aggregate ratings only appear on this site when they come from real, verifiable customer reviews. We would rather show nothing than show something invented.

Why are some of your client deployments unnamed?

Because those clients have not given written permission to be named. The deployments are real — a residential development, a student care centre, a confinement centre, dental and specialist clinics — but a client's business is theirs to disclose, not ours.

Does AIRE manufacture its own purifiers?

AIRE is a Singapore brand and we do not describe ourselves as the manufacturer. We specify, supply, install and service the range here, and we hold the company-level certifications listed on this site.
